Adult Therapy

The Carianne Vermeulen Speech & Language Therapy practice is experienced in working with a wide range of adult client groups.

We have a special interest in communication problems and/or feeding/swallowing difficulties associated with acquired disorders, (e.g. Stroke or Brain Injury, and progressive disorders (e.g. Motor Neurone Disease and Parkinson’s disease). Our experienced Speech-Language Therapists have also worked extensively on issues such as Voice and Stuttering.

We always work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, liaising with other healthcare professionals to provide a consistent and relevant therapy. In addition, we also meet with the patient’s family and carers since they are an integral part of the support network. Whatever your requirements, you can rely on our therapists to provide a service that is professional, accessible, friendly and respectful of individual feelings and circumstances.

Throughout therapy, your communication needs will change and progress, which is why we will regularly review and update our aims and use a variety of therapeutic techniques and strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes.
